John F. Kennedy International Airport
is operated by The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey under a lease with the City of New York since June 1, 1947. With 35 million people expected to use JFK annually by the turn of the century, getting to, from, and through the airport must be as easy as possible.

Dazzling new terminals are being built and existing terminals are being modernized and expanded to provide premium service to the more than 100 airlines that operate from JFK. Passengers will enjoy a more efficient, secure and positive travel experience. There are approximately 18 miles from Midtown Manhattan to JFK Airport and it takes 35-90 minutes to travel. Times provided depend on the traffic conditions and the daytime.
